About The Event

Come and join the Queen of Fermenting as she shares some of her favourite Summer Ferments!

Fermented foods are literally predigested, living foods, packed with beneficial probiotic bacteria!  They are like rocket fuel for our gut microbiome which influences every aspect of our health, from our metabolism, immune system, mood, digestion and overall well being.

Fermented foods are inexpensive and simple to make at home, so long as a few simple rules are followed and summer ferments are fast, and a perfect way to preserve a glut of homegrown produce!

Expect a celebration of seasonal vibrant flavours, tongue tingling, fizzy, sour and absolutely delicious to super charge our summer, liven up our BBQ's, impress our family and friends and delight our wee gut buddies!

This is a fun, delicious and interactive workshop, demonstrating some favourite summer ferments using the best of seasonal produce, which we will be sampling!

Juicy tomatoes, courgettes, crisp radishes, brightly coloured peppers, delicious sweetcorn, vibrant herbs, citrus and spices will be used in abundance, to delight all our senses!

We will be sampling all of these mouth watering delicious ferments before making a jar of tomato salsa and sweetcorn relish to ferment at home!

  • Spicy radish bombs, a great digestive aid
  • Probiotic carrot sticks, perfect with dips
  • Sweetcorn relish, great with veggie burgers
  • Fermented tomato salsa, a winner with tortilla chips
  • Tomato Bombs, a taste explosion
  • Carrot Kraut, vibrant and delicious

Since they are all fermented, they are naturally preserved and will keep for weeks in the fridge, giving you more time to enjoy them!

The workshop will include all the fermented recipes with some great ideas for serving them!

You will need to bring 2 glass jars, size 500mls and your best sharp knife for chopping!
