About The Event
The immune system is complex: 70% of it exists in the gut, so the food we eat, and our lifestyle
choices, affect it massively. Supporting our immunity is not about individual vitamins, or using supplements; it’s about diversity of real foods.
This workshop will inspire and empower you to make better choices for your health. And its all
about delicious food you can easily make at home!
Every chronic disease from digestive issues, to autoimmune disease, depression, skin issues, arthritis
and cancer originates in the gut.
Over the years we have obsessed about carbohydrates, protein and fat when the most important
aspect of our diet is in fact FIBRE, which only comes from plants! Fibre is fuel for our trillions of good
gut microbes and they all have different preferences, just like us!
Fibre exists in many forms and it’s really not all about eating boxes of All Bran; rather it’s about
natural sources of fibre - fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices, beans, lentils and wholefoods
in their original form.
The standard 5-a-day recommendation is not nearly enough - we should really be aiming for 30
different sources of fibre each week.
The key thing is diversity so eat the rainbow and include seasonal foods. Variety is the spice of life
for us and also for our gut microbes!
Once we learn what our gut microbes need, and see how delicious eating whole foods can be, it’s
incredibly easy to add more diversity to our diet!
In this workshop I will be sharing:
- Â top tips for adding diversity to the diet
- Â my favourite recipes
- Â simple food swaps
- Â my favourite ferments, which are worth extra diversity points
- Â a few foraged elements
- Â the importance of eating seasonal foods
Plus, we will be sampling lots of delicious food - from dips, snacks, sourdough, ferments, salads,
energy bites through to probiotic chocolate; all to tantalise our taste buds, nourish our gut microbes,
and support our immunity!
All the recipes will be e-mailed after the workshop, so if you want to be in the best of health for the
Festive Season, then this workshop is for you!
