Solidarity Medicine Making - Calais refugee camps

Join us to learn about herbal medicine making whilst making 'Calais Bruise Balm' en mass for Herbalists without Borders Calais. Every participant will also take a pot of 'Calais Bruise Balm' away with them.

In this session, we will make pots of Calais Bruise Balm.

All monies from this workshop will go towards the medicine-making ingredients, packaging etc.  

Herbalist Without Borders Calais is a grassroots non-profit organisation who visits Calais once a month to deliver Herbal Medicine and First Aid to homeless, destitute and vulnerable asylum seeker adults and children. We have seen over 3600 people in the last year and have developed a good relationship with local doctors and other agencies working on the ground. People are living in damp, cold unsanitary conditions meaning minor health complaints can progress to more serious issues. People are suffering from colds and flu, indigestion, and sicknesses incurred from spending time in a refrigerated lorry, or sinking dingy. They have bruises, wounds and sprains from falling off lorries and beatings from the French police.

We operate on very limited funding, everyone is a volunteer. We visit Calais every month and although we are only there for a few days each visit but see around 500 asylum seekers and also support long term volunteers from other organisations.

All tickets money made from this workshop - £28.50 - will go towards the medicine-making ingredients, packaging etc with a small amount going to the facilitator. £6.50 from the £35 ticket pays for drink and cake.
