About The Event
A massive two-thirds of us will experience mental
Health issues in our lifetime & stress can be a key factor
in developing other health problems. With us all
leading such busy lives it can be difficult to find time
for ourselves. One thing that most of us do several times
during the day is stop for a quick cuppa. This very simple
act presents the perfect opportunity to take a 5 or 10
minute break to de stress.
So, what is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is a form of meditation where you focus
attention on the present moment. Meditation is a bit
more daunting & takes more time, but being “mindful”
is more manageable. We just need something enjoyable
to focus on & our daily cuppa can be just the ticket.
Now, imagine if you could elevate your daily cuppa into
more than just a quick mindful break, but a nurturing,
healing “hug in a mug”. There are a huge number of
plants growing all around us, in both urban & rural
settings which we can use to make our own delicious
herbal tea blends. You can go out & forage them for
yourself or you can buy them online or in specialist shops.
Herbal tea blends have never been more accessible &
you don’t have to be an expert to blend your own.
So, during this workshop
- you will be presented with a large range of different herbs, some fresh, some dried,
- some foraged & some cultivated.
- You will have fact sheets with a note of all the herbs available on the day, plus probably some extra ones too,
- listing each herbs beneficial properties.
- You will be encouraged to select &blend your own teas, or, if you want to just try some individual herbs, that’s
- fine too. Help will be on hand to guide you at all times.
Vicky is a keen forager,
going out with her grandmother from an early age, to
collect plants for food & medicine, amongst other things,
to use in the home. She runs regular foraged themed
activities & workshops, alongside sourdough workshops,
with the aim of helping people reconnect with Nature.
She strongly believes that the huge benefits of foraged
plants & being in & around Nature should be accessible
for everyone, regardless of age or class distinction.
The perfect Mindful moments are to be had when we are
being held in awe of our natural world & what She
provides us with, if only we could see it.
If you would like to explore these topics further, or
simply get in touch, you will find her on Facebook &
